The Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division held the "2024 Overseas Students Dragon Boat Festival Reunion" on June 3rd, 2024, event on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival. Each student received a rice dumpling and seasonal fruit, with 393 overseas Chinese students, mainland Chinese students, and international students participating. The event featured a continuous loop of videos introducing the Dragon Boat Festival culture from various overseas regions, an egg-balancing activity, and a like-and-share session to enhance interaction and communication among the participants.

On May 17, 2024, the Overseas Community Affairs Council held the Award Ceremony for the Outstanding Graduating Overseas Chinese Students' Chairman's Award and the Overseas Chinese Students Scholarship Grant.

2024 Overseas Students Dragon Boat Festival Reunion

The "2024 NTU World Carnival" took place on April 27th at Lu Ming Square and Zhoushan and Roosevelt Rd. Intersection, featuring 40 booths set up by overseas students, mainland students, and international students from 26 countries/regions. Distinguished guests, faculty members, and members of the local community gathered to sample food, enjoy performances, and experience games, immersing themselves in the rich cultural diversity of the NTU campus and showcasing the value of respecting multiculturalism. A total of 444 people participated in the popularity voting, with over 3,000 attendees.

On April 24th, the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division held the “Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Student Counseling Intelligence Workshop,” with 65 faculty and staff members from departments and administrative units participating. The established counseling network results from collaborative efforts by various departments and administrative units. To provide opportunities for mutual experience exchange and practical sharing, the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division introduced the overview of overseas and mainland Chinese students, counseling programs, survey statistics, and employment counseling measures in response to new overseas Chinese affairs policies. The Center for Student Well-Being shared common challenges encountered by overseas and mainland Chinese students and suggested guidance approaches. On April 22nd, the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division and Mainland Affairs Council held the "2024 Points System (scoring criteria) for working in Taiwan " in Classroom 101 of the Gongtong Building. One hundred sixty-four overseas students from the Taiwan University System's three schools attended. To encourage overseas students to work in Taiwan, the government has actively introduced many friendly policies, including simplifying the application process for the points system, increasing the number of permits, and extending the job-seeking residency. Overseas students can stay and work in Taiwan to utilize their talents.

The 2024 NTU International and Overseas Chinese Students Singing Competition, held on March 24, saw participation from 25 individual contestants and 6 groups. In the individual category, Kenneth Ryan Kusumah triumphed with "Impossible," Carlsson Leong Ting Kang took second place with "癡心絕對," and Steven Hendric secured third with "船歌." Deanna Gracia received a special award for "無條件為你". In groups, "定實炸彈" won with "漂洋過海來看你," "Souls" came second with "Rewrite the stars," and "還沒想好" placed third with "裏著心的光." The popularity award was jointly won by Nicholas, "定實炸彈," and "聲藏 BLUE." This event showcased the musical talents of international students, fostering cross-cultural exchanges.

On Sunday, December 24, National Taiwan University held the "Lunar New Year Gathering" event at noon in the old gymnasium.

2023 Hiking event for Overseas Students

The president of the Hong Kong alumni association and six other alumni returned to the campus to take part in the 95th-anniversary celebration. They had discussions with 30 students from Hong Kong and Macau, as well as scholarship recipients from the alumni association. The discussions focused on topics such as further education and employment, facilitating the exchange of opinions and sharing of experiences.
