Forwarded Announcement: National Emergency Relief Fund for Myanmar Overseas Compatriots and International Students

The fund is established to support Myanmar overseas compatriots and international students in Taiwan who encounter emergency situations during their studies and require financial assistance.

I. Eligibility

Myanmar overseas compatriots and international students currently studying at senior high school, vocational school, college, university, or above in Taiwan may apply if they encounter one of the following circumstances:

1. Hospitalization due to injury or illness, resulting in a significant financial burden.
2. Death due to illness or accident.

II. Types of Assistance

The emergency relief fund includes the following three categories:

1. Emergency living assistance
2. Medical assistance
3. Funeral assistance

Each applicant may apply for only one category for the same incident, and each incident may be subsidized only once. Applications must be submitted within six months of the date of the incident. Late applications will not be accepted.

III. Application Requirements

Applicants should complete the application/report form and provide relevant supporting documents for review. The required documents include:

1. Application form, verified and stamped by the applicant’s school
2. Copy of Alien Resident Certificate
3. Copy of student ID card
4. Copy of medical diagnosis certificate
5. Copy of medical expense receipts or other official cost estimates
6. Other documents helpful for review
7. Copy of the bankbook cover showing the account name and account number of the applicant or recipient
8. Original copy of the Personal Data Collection, Processing, and Use Consent Form

IV. Amount of Assistance

The amount of assistance generally ranges from NT$10,000 to NT$50,000, subject to review and approval by the committee.

The actual amount approved will depend on the applicant’s circumstances, supporting documents, and the committee’s review decision.

V. Application Method

Applicants should prepare all required documents and mail them directly to the following address:

VI. Notes

1. The committee reserves the final right to approve or reject applications and to determine the amount of assistance granted.
2. The committee may conduct on-site visits when necessary. Applicants must not provide false information or refuse such visits. Violations may result in the recovery of funds and relevant legal liability.
3. In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, applicants must sign the Personal Data Collection, Processing, and Use Consent Form. Applications will not be accepted if the applicant does not agree to the collection, processing, and use of personal data for the stated purposes.
4. Approved applicants will be notified in writing, and the assistance will be disbursed by bank transfer.
