NTU students (except students from the Department of Chinese Literature) must prepare the original and one photocopy of either:
Please write your student ID number, full name, contact phone number, and frequently used email address on the photocopy, and submit both the original and the photocopy for verification at Room 203, Department of Chinese Literature, no later than 4:00 PM on the day of the examination. After verification, the original document will be returned, while the photocopy will be retained by the Department of Chinese Literature. Students who fail to complete the verification by the deadline will not be eligible for the course exemption. |

Explanation: Students who obtain waiver qualifications are waived from Freshman English, which is equivalent to being waived from the required foreign language courses and advanced English courses. They will be granted credits (a total of 6 credits) that count towards graduation but will not be included in the credit count for the first and second semesters of the freshman year, nor will they receive a grade.

| Registration Date | August 7 - 18 | Application period (please choose only one from below): 1. During summer break: from August 10th to September 8th, 2026. 2. During winter break: from January 18th to February 19th, 2027. After applying, students should bring the original copy of their certificate or result slip to the DFLL Office (Room 632, Humanities Hall) for verification. Verification period: For those who applied during summer break: from August 17th to September 14th (Mon.), 2026. For those who applied during winter break: from February 17th to March 2nd, 2027. The DFLL Office is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. Qualification for waiving College English will otherwise be annulled. |
