[Forward] Overseas Community Affairs Council Announcement

The Ministry of Labor has issued the amended provisions of the following regulations:

  1. "The Reviewing Standards and Employment Qualifications for Foreigners Engaging in the Jobs Specified in Subparagraph 8 to 11, Paragraph 1 to Article 46 of the Employment Service Act. "
  2. "Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers."
  3. "Document Validity Period, Application Procedures, and Other Documents Prescribed by the Central Competent Authority for Employers Applying to Hire Type C Foreign Workers."
  4. "Procedures for Changing Employers or Jobs for Foreigners Engaging in the Jobs Specified in Subparagraph 8 to 11, Paragraph 1 to Article 46 of the Employment Service Act."

1. This notice is issued following the Overseas Community Affairs Council's letter No. 1130084763, dated September 2, 2024.

2. The amendment above involves changes to the regulations regarding overseas Chinese students applying for work-study and seeking employment in Taiwan after graduation.

3. Attached are the Overseas Community Affairs Council letter and the relevant documents for your reference.

Details:

1. A new category has been added for employment in the hospitality industry, allowing hospitality employers to hire international students, overseas Chinese students, and other students of Chinese descent with an associate degree or higher from Taiwanese universities. The notice also includes information on job descriptions, application qualifications, and salary standards.

2. The validity period for work permits for enrolled overseas Chinese and international students has been extended from a maximum of 6 months to 1 year.
