Announcement
1. Eligibility Overseas Compatriot students with formal student status who are enrolled in a graduate program at NTU and have completed one full semester of study may apply for this scholarship if they meet either of the following academic requirements: An average GPA of 3.38 or above; or A grade of A- or above in thesis research and conduct. In addition, applicants must not receive any scholarships or grants funded by other Taiwan government programs (such as those provided by the National Science and Technology Council or the Ministry of Education), including research assistantships, during the scholarship period (six months: August 2026 to January 2027).
2. Application Period Applications will be accepted from Monday, September 14, 2026, to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.
3. Application Procedure Submit the application online and complete it within the application period. Late applications will not be accepted.
4. Submission of Required Documents Please arrange the required documents in the order specified below and scan and combine them into one PDF file. We will not accept photographs of documents. Please name the PDF file “Student ID-Full Name” and upload it to the “Outstanding Overseas Compatriot Graduate Student Scholarship” Application Form. Applications will be returned if the documents are submitted in the wrong order or if the scanned documents are unclear.
Required Documents
(1) Required Document Checklist Complete the online application through the Student Financial Support Services (Scholarships and Grants) system and print the required document checklist. Please refer to the sample document and SOP for Printing the Required Document Checklist.
(2) Application Form The form must bear the official stamp of the department/institute office, the signature of the recommending professor, and the applicant’s own signature.
(3) One Document Attachment Sheet Please refer to the sample.
(4) Declaration Form
(5) Certificate of Class Ranking for Fall Semester 2025 (114-2) Please apply for the certificate at Room 210, Administration Building, Graduate Education Division, or print it using the designated machine. Grade notification slips and academic records viewed through myNTU will not be accepted.
(6) Conduct Grade Certificate Download it from the myNTU Awards and Disciplinary Records System.
(7) Certificate of Enrollment for Fall Semester 2026 (115-1) Download it from the ePo System.
(8) Recommendation from a Department/Institute Professor The recommendation may be provided directly on the application form or submitted as a separate letter of recommendation.
(9) One Research Proposal The research proposal must include the research motivation and objectives, research framework, sources of data collection, thesis outline, references, and other relevant information.
(10) Other Supporting Documents for Review For example, certificates of awards, proof of financial hardship, and other relevant supporting documents.
5. Scholarship Amount Each recipient will receive NT$10,000 per month.
6. Important Notice Please ensure that receiving this scholarship does not conflict with the regulations governing graduate student scholarships or financial assistance offered by your department/institute.
7. Restrictions on Concurrent Scholarships Students who have received scholarships or grants funded by other Taiwan government programs (such as those provided by the National Science and Technology Council or the Ministry of Education), including research assistantships, during this semester (August 2026 to January 2027) are not eligible to receive this scholarship concurrently.
