[轉發]2026 University Overseas Compatriot Student Speech Contest
To encourage Overseas Compatriot Students and Hong Kong and Macao Students to develop confidence in public speaking, enhance their language and oral communication skills, and provide a platform to demonstrate their logical thinking, the Overseas Chinese Association will hold the “University Overseas Compatriot, Hong Kong and Macao Student Speech Contest.” The theme of this year’s contest is: “How I Develop My Competitiveness in the Age of AI.” Contest Format Preliminary Round: Participants are required to record a 3-minute speech in MP4 format (no self-introduction is required) and submit it by email to the Overseas Chinese Association at oca2326f@gmail.com by 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The email subject line should be written as follows: “XX University, Department of XX, Year X, XX (Country/Region), Overseas Compatriot Student / Hong Kong or Macao Student, XXX – Speech Contest Preliminary Round.” The organizer will conduct a preliminary screening, and the top 20 participants will advance to the final round. Final Round: The final will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Dazhi Denwell Flagship Store in Taipei City. Each participant will have 6 minutes for the speech.
Judging Criteria Five judges will be invited to evaluate contestants according to the following criteria: Content: 40%
Stage Presence and Manner: 25%
Pronunciation and Expression: 20%
Interest and Engagement: 15% Awards First Place: NT$20,000 and a certificate
Second Place: NT$16,000 and a certificate
Third Place: NT$12,000 and a certificate
Fourth Place: NT$8,000 and a certificate
Fifth Place: NT$6,000 and a certificate
15 Merit Awards: NT$3,000 and a certificate for each recipient
Participation Award: NT$800 (for participants whose preliminary-round videos meet the contest theme and are at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds long, but who are not selected among the top 20) Please refer to the attached contest guidelines for other regulations and details.
