1.   Eligibility:
(1)    Undergraduate overseas Chinese students currently enrolled at NTU under the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan and from low-income families are eligible to apply.
(2)    Sophomore students and above must meet all of the following criteria:
A.    An average academic grade that is passing and an average conduct grade of A or above for the previous academic year. If the student was not enrolled in the previous academic year, the most recent academic and conduct grades will be considered.
B.    No disciplinary record at or above the level of admonition.
C.    Students who are graduate students, in extended study periods, or who have already received tuition subsidies, waivers, or financial aid from other government sources are not eligible to apply.
2.   Application Period:
From Monday, August 24, 2026 to Friday, September 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
Applicants must complete the online application and upload all required documents via the Student Financial Support Service System within the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
3.   Application Procedure:

4.   Required Documents:
(1)  Document Checklist (printable after completing the online application via the Student Financial Support Service System)(Sample documents/print document submission list SOP).
(2)  Financial Aid Application and Evaluation Form for Low-Income Overseas Chinese Students (including Supporting documents required by the “Document Attachment Sheet” and the “Review Criteria Checklist.).
(3)  Certificate of financial hardship issued this year by a unit recognized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council. If the document is not in Chinese or English, a translated version in either language is required. (If your parent(s) have household registration in Taiwan, please also provide the previous year’s tax exemption certificate or household income statement.)
(4)  Photocopy of both sides of the student ID card (must include the registration stamp for the 115-1 semester). If the stamp is not available, a Certificate of Enrollment for the 115-1 semester must be submitted. This can be printed from the myNTU-epo system after September 7 at: https://my.ntu.edu.tw/
(5)  A photocopy of the admission notice issued by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students or by overseas high school recommendation (independent admission).
(6)  For students in their second year or above: an official transcript (original copy) of the previous or most recent academic year. Please apply through the Office of Academic Affairs or use the university’s on-campus transcript printers. “Grade notifications” or screenshots from myNTU are not accepted.
(7)  Certificate of conduct grades (downloadable from the myNTU Conduct and Rewards System).
(8)  Transfer students must also submit a certificate of transfer or certificate of enrollment/partial completion from their previous institution, along with a transcript from the previous or most recent academic year that meets the eligibility criteria.
5.   Additional Consideration:
The top 60 applicants selected for the MOE Financial Aid for Low-Income Overseas Chinese Students will be nominated directly by the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division to apply for NTU’s internal Hope Scholarship.
After evaluation by the scholarship review committee, the Counseling Division will notify the selected students of the results and process the disbursement.
