Amendments to the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals Effective from January 1, 2026

According to the official letter from the Overseas Community Affairs Council (Reference No. 1150500105), the amended provisions of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals have officially come into effect as of January 1, 2026. Students are advised to pay close attention to the latest policies regarding employment and residence in Taiwan after graduation.

The key amendments and related supporting measures have been jointly compiled by the National Development Council, the Ministry of Labor, and the National Immigration Agency. The information includes:
·Regulations on work applications for foreign professionals (including exemption from work permit application for graduating overseas compatriot students with an associate degree or above)
·Applicability of the new Labor Pension System
·Enrollment and benefit claims for employment insurance
·Regulations on residence and permanent residency applications
