[Announcement]114 University Overseas Chinese Student Speech Contest – Prize Money Increased!
To encourage Overseas Chinese students to strengthen their stage presence and provide a platform to showcase logical thinking, the General Association of Chinese Associations will hold the University Overseas Chinese Student Speech Contest.
This year’s speech theme is:“From My Homeland to Taiwan – My Journey of Transformation, Growth, and Future Outlook”
Contest Format
Preliminary Round: Contestants must submit a 3-minute MP4 video by 5:00 PM, Thursday, September 25, 2025 to the designated email address of the Association. The top 15 contestants will be selected for the finals. Final Round: Will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Denwell Dazhi, Taipei. Each contestant will deliver a 6-minute speech.
Judging Criteria Five judges will evaluate contestants according to the following weights:
Content: 40%
Stage Presence: 25%
Articulation & Expression: 20%
Engagement & Interest: 15%
Awards (Now Upgraded!)
1st Prize: NTD 20,000 + Certificate
2nd Prize: NTD 16,000 + Certificate
3rd Prize: NTD 12,000 + Certificate
4th Prize: NTD 8,000 + Certificate
5th Prize: NTD 6,000 + Certificate
Merit Awards (10 winners): NTD 3,000 each + Certificate
Participation Award: NTD 800 + Certificate (for contestants whose preliminary videos meet the theme, last at least 2 minutes 30 seconds, but do not qualify for the top 15)
Additional Notes A maximum of 50 entries will be accepted for the preliminary round, in the order received. Late submissions will not be accepted once the quota is full.
