【Announcement for Application】National Taiwan University "OCAC Scholarship To Reward Top and Outstanding Overseas Compatriot Students for Studying AI Related Departments at Universities in Taiwan"
To encourage academically outstanding overseas compatriot students with aspirations in the AI industry, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) offers the “Scholarship for Top and Outstanding Overseas Compatriot Students to Study at Universities in Taiwan.” The scholarship provides generous financial support, up to NT$1,040,000 over four years. Eligible students are welcome to apply!
1. Eligibility Requirements
(1) Applicants must:
Be overseas compatriot students who have graduated from high school or above, achieved excellent academic performance, demonstrated good conduct, and meet the requirements of Article 2 of the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan.
(2) Have been admitted to one of the following National Taiwan University (NTU) departments: Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering, Department of Information Management, Global Undergraduate Program in Semiconductors, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, English-Taught Intelligent Engineering and Technology Undergraduate Program
(3) Meet the following high school grade standards:
a. Top Scholarship: Average scores in Mathematics and Physics of 88 or above, or top 5% of the class.
b. Outstanding Scholarship: Average scores of 85 or above, or top 10% of the class.
(4)Conduct grade must be 80 or above.
(5) Have not yet confirmed receipt of the same scholarship through other channels.
2. Scholarship Amount
(1)Top Scholarship: NT$260,000 per academic year, totaling NT$1,040,000 over four years.
(2)Outstanding Scholarship: NT$100,000 per academic year, totaling NT$400,000 over four years.
3. Application Period
July 1, 2025 – August 15, 2025
4. Required Documents
Please prepare and arrange the following documents in order, scan them into a single PDF, and upload them via the online form:
(1)Scholarship Application Form (attachment)
(2)Copy of permanent or long-term residence permit
(3)Copy of the highest academic qualification certificate and transcript (with Chinese translation if not in Chinese or English, verified by the relevant authorities)
(4)Two recommendation letters (personally signed)
(5)Autobiography including study plan
(6)Certificate of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) at intermediate level or above (exempt if unavailable)
*Important*: Applications with incomplete, incorrect, or unclear documents will be rejected. Late submissions will be considered withdrawals from the application.

6. Notes
The maximum duration of the scholarship is four years. Renewal requires meeting the academic and conduct standards each academic year.
If any application documents are found to be false or forged, or if the recipient drops out, eligibility will be revoked and legal liability may be pursued.
Students who have already applied for the Overseas Community Affairs Council Elite and Outstanding Scholarship through overseas missions (regardless of whether they have been awarded or not) may still apply for this scholarship in accordance with the NTU prospectus; however, if they are ultimately granted both scholarships, they must choose only one to receive.
