[Overseas Community Affairs Council Reminder] Preventing the Incursion of African Swine Fever and Other Foreign Animal Diseases into Taiwan

According to statistical data from the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, there has been a recent increase in animal quarantine violations. These include the illegal importation of pork floss biscuits, fried pork skin, and pork sausages from Thailand via postal packages and pet food and meat-containing processed foods from mainland China via express delivery. Foreign nationals in Taiwan are reminded not to use courier or postal services to send or import animal quarantine items. This measure aims to prevent the incursion of major foreign animal infectious diseases, such as African swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, and highly pathogenic avian influenza, into Taiwan.
