[Announcement] Application matters for the "NTU Low-to-Middle-Income Overseas Chinese Students Financial Aid Application " in the 113th academic year.

Basis:
This is handled under the "Guidelines for Issuing Scholarships to Economically Disadvantaged Overseas Chinese Students in Senior Secondary and Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education" and the "National Taiwan University Guidelines for Reviewing Scholarships for Economically Disadvantaged Overseas Chinese Students."
Announcements:
1. Eligibility:
(1) Students from overseas Chinese families enrolled in undergraduate programs at the university under the "Regulations for the Study and Counseling of Overseas Chinese Students Returning to Taiwan for Study" who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds may apply for this scholarship. However, those in the second year or above must meet the following qualifications:
I. The average academic grade for the previous academic year must be passing, and the average conduct grade must be A or above. If the student was not enrolled for any reason in the previous academic year, the most recent academic and conduct grades will be considered.
II. No disciplinary actions of admonition or above.
(2) Graduate students, students in extended study periods, or those who have already received other government-provided tuition fee subsidies, reductions, or scholarships are not eligible to apply.
2. Application Period: From August 19, 2024 (Monday) to September 6, 2024 (Friday) at 5 PM. Both online applications and submission of paper documents must be completed within this period. Late applications will not be accepted.
3. Application Procedure: Please apply online through the university's "Student Financial Aid Service System" (https://my.ntu.edu.tw/fao/login.aspx) and submit the following paper documents to Ms. Peng at the Overseas and Mainland Chinese Student Counseling Division, Office of Student Affairs (Room 112, Administration Building, Main Campus):
(1) A list of documents to be submitted for scholarship applications (can be printed after completing the online application).
(2) Application form and review standards form for the Scholarship for Economically Disadvantaged Overseas Chinese Students (including the certificate attachment sheet).
(3) Proof of economic hardship issued by a unit recognized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council or other supporting documents
in 2024. If the documents are not in Chinese or English, they must be translated into Chinese or English.
(4) Photocopy of the student ID card (both sides) with the registration stamp for the 113-1 semester; if there is no registration stamp, additional proof of enrollment for the 113-1 semester must be attached. Please print the proof of enrollment from myNTU-epo Learning Portfolio (https://my.ntu.edu.tw/). New students can print it after September 2.
(5) Photocopy of the admission notice from the Overseas Joint Admission Committee or the Overseas High School Recommendation Admission (Independent Admission) notice.
(6) For students in the second year or above, the original transcript for the entire previous academic year or the most recent academic year must be submitted. Please request it from the Registration Division or print it from the machine. "Grade Notification" and "myNTU Query of Grade Records" are not accepted.
(7) Proof of conduct grades (download from myNTU Reward and Punishment System).
(8) Transferring overseas Chinese students must submit a transfer certificate or a study (completion) certificate from the previous school and a transcript for the entire previous academic year or the most recent academic year that meets the application standards.
4. The first 60 candidates on the Ministry of Education's scholarship list for economically disadvantaged overseas Chinese students will be proactively submitted by the Overseas and Mainland Chinese Student Counseling Division to the Life Counseling Division for the university's Hope Scholarship application. After review and decision by the Review Committee, the Life Counseling Division will notify the scholarship approval result and process the disbursement.
